Let us tell you more about the NLRP! The Non-lucrative residence permit is a category of residence and one of the best ways to stay in Spain for non-EU / EEA / Swiss nationals. The non-profitable residence permit is typically reserved for self-sufficient people who have no plans to work in Spain and who are financially independent (as proved by bank statements or statements from the accountant). The non-profitable residence permit is valid for 1 year and can be extended for a further 2 years, whereby it can be extended twice. This means that this visa category allows you to stay in Spain for up to 5 years (year 1 + 2 years + 2 years). However, at the end of the first year you can apply for a work permit (as a self-employed person or as an employee).
