A Brief History

The Legal Firm “MARTINEZ-ABARCA, ABOGADOS” was founded in Murcia in the 1930’s by Mr José María Martínez-Abarca Díaz. Since then, eleven of his seventeen children followed suit by becoming solicitors, barristers, registrars and public prosecutors, to continue the work of their father, a well-regarded and much respected attorney in law, who has now been followed by his grandchildren.

With a highly experienced background in the traditional fields of law, the new firm “MARTINEZ-ABARCA & MUÑOZ, SOLICITORS” was set up in 1991 in the centre of Torrevieja.

The “MARTINEZ-ABARCA & MUÑOZ” offices in Torrevieja have been built up to represent a well-known and professional legal firm headed by the directors, Mr José María Martínez-Abarca and Mrs Cristina Muñoz, both solicitors and members of the Bar Association. Their fully trained staff consist of two more qualified solicitors, Mrs Sonia Hernández and Mr Fulgencio Martínez-Abarca, and a team of eleven assistants.

In 2002, due to an upturn of popularity in property development on the Almeria Coast, a new “MARTINEZ-ABARCA & MUÑOZ” branch was set up in Vera (Almeria). The main solicitor in this office is Mr Victor Martínez-Abarca, who leads a well-trained team with four assistants.

At the end of 2004, a third branch was opened in Calpe (Alicante), which is headed by Mrs Cristina Muñoz with, at present, one assistant Ms. Charlotte Horton.

New premises have been bought in San Javier (Murcia) to install in this growing town the Central Offices of the Firm in Easter 2.008.

Since the practise was first established, it has excelled in giving a professional and independent service with a warm and personal touch to nearly ten thousand clients.

In order to improve the assistance we give our many clients, last month we have all of our branches equipped with video conference systems, consisting of high quality plasma screens, cameras and sound technology. The aim of this was to enable our clients, irrespective of their location, to talk “face to face” with any of our members of the firm, whenever they need it.
